I have been fascinated by music and lighting since childhood but spent most of my professional working life involved with synthesizers and music technology yet I always kept an eye on the lighting designers and 'lampies' as without their head for colour and heights gigs would have been quite dull.
With MIDI and DMX controllers permitting the control of one discipline from another protocol I was finding keyboard players, drummers and guitarists wishing to take some control of visual content, lighting levels and shades. VJ software such as ArKaos has permitted this via MIDI access, in my case for the last six years.
Keyboard performers' works of Geoff Downes, Rick Wakeman and Alfred Anthony made an impression on me and Rick has used great 40 metre high and wide stage projections live in Quebec, but Alfred could enhance his club/theatre venue shows too.
